General Overview for Training Schedule at CFR Engines INC.

  • Extensive hands-on experience will be provided to all students in each of the classes. Students are encouraged to actively participate in the course and ask questions to promote a better understanding of the material.
  • Each student will receive supplemental training materials for use during the class and to take back to the workplace. These include the latest version of all CFR-related ASTM test methods, CFR training class material, associated CFR Operations and Maintenance Manual, CFR Tool Catalog and Waukesha CFR product brochures.
  • Students will be given a test at the end of each class attended. A student must score 80% or better to earn "factory trained" status. Students who have attended the entire class but score below 80% will be given the status of “attended.” Students will be required to complete the examinations at the end of each class without use of materials, basic notes or assistance from others.

NOTE: "Factory trained" does not endorse or provide any individual "factory authorization" to perform maintenance, warranty or service outside of the needs of their immediate company. "Factory Certification" can only be obtained through distributorship with CFR Engines Inc. CFR distributors are the only factory supported entities to provide factory supported service, maintenance and warranty.

  • Each class starts on Monday and is scheduled for 4.5 days with Friday being a half day for the test. Monday through Thursday, classes start at 8:30 a.m. and end at 4:00 p.m. On Friday, classes start at 8:30 and students will be returned to the hotel by 12:00 noon or earlier depending on the time needed for the test. The student’s travel plans should be arranged to accommodate this schedule.
  • MANDATORY: All students are required to wear safety glasses with side shield’s and safety shoes during hands-on training. We encourage students to bring their own personal safety equipment for comfort and convenience. Shorts, sandals and open toe footwear will NOT be permitted. Appropriate casual attire is required. NOMEX and/or fire retardant clothing is NOT required.
